Tornado Warning

It has been a very very unproductive weekend which composed of lazing around and sleeping in for 3 consecutive days. It seems like life is getting duller as the end of the semester is drawing closer. Ties i once had with my friends also seem to slowly be deterring.

But on another hand, I did experience my first tornado warning this weekend. I vividly remember Ben and Gaby telling me how there would be atleast 1 or 2 tornado warnings per semester. But nothing ever happens. Basically, the winds around lawrence or somewhere close gets pretty strong and a siren is sounded. People from the dorms start heading down to the basement and everyone just crowds there for an hour or two, and typically the "tornado" goes away. Apparently the funnel of the "tornado" has come very close to the ground once or twice.

The sky outside during the tornado warning. You can't really see it though.

I checked my mail today, and once again, the parcel my parents send me 2 months ago has not arrived. However, I did receive something rather delightful.

A gift from Nat. A sushi keychain!

It's a wonder how good you feel when you receive something from someone so close to you that's so far away. It says alot about how much a person knows you. I really like it not only because I'm a big fan of sushi, but it's my favorite type off sushi - kappa maki! (Small rolls with a small piece of cucumber in the middle.) So simple yet so delightful, it's all i get when I went to sushi restaurants.

"May cause choking, keep away from small or in ian's case, big children."

Isn't it the sweetest thing ever. Thanks nat. For your new zeland sushi :D

I miss you

:D

- Queue dramatic music

Foreword: NAT?! Why are you never on Skype at the discussed time. You Boob

Howdy Doody
Everybody. How's everybody doing? Fine? Oh? Really? Are you sure about that? Do you want to take sometime before you answer that question. Done yet? Yea, I knew that. God, you people suck!

Result of Ian's abundance of free time. A tribute to my bestest friend in the whole wide world that's now suffering somewhere in the middle of Suck ass world. :( HANG ON NAT! I'll save you.

I was so bored I actually took Paperclips and tweaked and bent each letter of "Nat & Ian" one would think It doesn't take too much time to do that, but one is wrong. You won't believe how hard it is to do this when your hand is sweaty and you need to create just a little bend for the letter "A". Try it, it's hard mind you.

Recycled Paper Clips! Their like 89 cents at Walmart. The Jusco of America, only bigger.

But seriously though, life isn't THAT dull. I mean, It's duller. The only thing that has been filling my head for the past like 4 days were bio bio bio, and now that that's over, it's psych psych psych. Midterms are already here! can you bloody believe it? I mean, I guess this is how Americans study. Weird if you ask me.

My bio paper and my Bio textbook. The bio text book is really weird, it's like you have provide your own large 3-ring binder. Thank god one of my friends had an extra.

I've realized one thing while here in America. A lot of Americans, not all, are pretty dumb. I mean seriously. I walked out of the Bio test thinking I did extremely extremely bad, and I didn't really have a sense of logic for a lot of the questions. I walked out, went to the bus stop and waited for the "McCollum" bus, which I always do every mondays, wednesdays and fridays. (on tues and thurs I make it an point to walk back. Exercise much.) Anyway, there I was, standing and feeling terrible under the hot sun. Then I overheard some Americans talking.

Before I go on, here's the question in relevance.

Which of one is a situation that explains potential energy?
A. The warmth of a cat on your lap
B. A ball that has been thrown
C. The glow of a heated pan
D. Buttered toast.

"It's obviously the heated pan" said an American. "No, no, the cat may jump off at any time!" said American 2.0. "Hey, but I chose the ball being thrown." Says a female American. I mean, ain't the answer obvious? I don't know what to say. Well, you be the judge.

The amazing view over KU I get everyday beyond those blinds.

Did I mention how AMAZING KU's scenary is? I mean, it's like a dream everyday walking to class. But the weather is abit erractic as I've mentioned in the previous posts. But lately it has been dry and windy alot, very nice weather. It's like you could just jump and the wind would take you away, the best thing is always that just right wind hitting the cheeks of your face. I can imagine falling asleep sometimes as I lean on a wall.

There was a harvest moon the other night. It was so cool, an orange moon, I don't know if anyone else witnessed it, but it was soooo cool. Too bad the picture was a little blur in the night.

The sunset here is amazing too. The sky turns into layers of colours It's really a delight to walk like 7 blocks back to my Dorm. Sometimes, atleast.

Today was a pretty boring day, yet again, my need to sleep has caused me to miss a class. (This doesn't happen that frequently, but it does.) It's sad the way I can't resist my need to sleep. This is how it normally goes.

A night prior to my 9 a.m. class, I set my alarm to 7 a.m., then I set my phone alarm to 7.10, 7.20, 7.30, 7.40 etc, just to make sure I actually wake up. The next morning, the alarm rings at 7, i pick it up, turn it off, then I go back to sleep. The same thing happens to my phone, and again, and again, and before I know it, it's 9 a.m. and it's too late to get to class. :(

Urk, I can't go on missing classes, i'm really trying for a 4.0 this semester at least. Thank god I'm doing well in my other classes. The next exam that's coming is psych, and I haven't really picked up a book! Well, I have, but I can't seem to study knowing bio is behind me and my psychology comprehension is pretty good. But I should study... ... right?

The hallways of Fraser. The psych building. I went there today for the Psychology Review at 5. Just pretty much sat there and while people asked questions and I just soaked up all the information for this friday :P

Did I mention I love psych! :D the other day our teacher brought in an actual brain to class. You don't see that everyday. Apparently, the brain is toxic, if you touch it with your bare hands, you'd get poisoned. But at a low rate, or so they say. Didn't really get pictures of it though.

The University of Kansas daily - Sports.

Sports is a big thing here in KU. For those non-KU students, last year, KU was nationwide top in basketball. I didn't really know that when I got to America. Apparently, theres this Rivalry thing going on with MU, University of Missouri. We just lost a game to Missouri, and for some reason, I felt really sad for some reason, even though I've only been here for awhile. It's as if my pride had been ripped out when I heard we lost to Mizzou :(

Oh, I found something at Frasers today. The toilet had a flusher ON THE GROUND D: Isn't that like effin revolutionary? :D

The urinals here are like so retro. I mean, the buildings here are so old and shiz, the toilets match that age. The urinals are largely exposing. That's why you can almost never see 2 guys peeing in those urinals at once. I think?

Urk, I have to study nao =( Stupid test.

I bet you can't guess how much my guitar costs :P

A Post for Nat.

Dear Natalee,

It's tragic, you know, how I won't get to see you this year. You mean so much to me in so many ways I just can't describe. Your birthday is tomorrow, and my mind can't help but to fluster over the good times we've had in the past. Flashbacks keep occuring as I go throughout my day here in KU.

You've always supported me the way you would red house. (I know it's a sucky caption!

Remember the first time we met? Well, frankly speaking, I don't. But what I do remember are the time I spent leaning back and scratching my hair causing your table to be filled with a layer of dandruff. You'd always get so mad it'd put a smile on my face. You felt I was entirely unbearable back then, it's quite amazing to see how far we've come, hasn't it?

It depresses me alot, when I start thinking of times we had back in school. The day when you decided to separate from the majority to accompany me and Fen. I'll never know if it was for me, or Fen, but I'm thankful till this very day that you did just that. Ever since then, we've become inseparable. The times we've had fighting and arguing are by far the best times I ever had with you. Although I may deny this at times, you are one of the brightest people I'll ever know. I also love the way that you and I had a passion for Art and the creating. Remember how we would come up with stupid ideas together, talk about for like sometime and realize it was too stupid to ever come true. I can't give you any examples, because I can't remember any, all I can remember is that face you made when you realized how stupid those ideas were.

And don't forget those times we spent running around PJ and KL. Times where you'd be so reluctant to go out, and I had to literally beg you so you'd come out with me. I like getting lost with you, it's so funny. When you're so sure, and I'm so sure, in the end no one's sure. It's a pretty amazing feat that we ended up at Genna's in one piece the other night. There were so many more things we could've done with my car! I can't believe I'll never get that chance again.

Remember your last birthday? I do. I happened to search through my very small picture album and managed to find some pictures of you. (There are hardly pictures of ANYONE, mind you.)

Trying to make a lameass joke, as always. That's the face she gives when she thinks she's right, but somehow proven wrong.

Just to jog your memory, your friends decided to hold a surprise birthday party for you. I don't know if you knew about it, but isn't it nice to see so many people care for you?

Ohh ohh! Remember how I came up with the idea of tearing up the boxes as paper plates?!

I love it when you doubt my claims to fame, and agree with me just for the sake of agreeing with me. Especially when you feel aggitated and you get angry. I still remember the time you cried when nobody wanted to cooperate with you during the choral speaking thing. But you were great, you definately have some inbound leadership qualities.

Doesn't this just remind you of how horny you are sometimes? It's astounding that so much sexuality can be contained is such a small body.

I can imagine you blaming Li-Tjen already. But you've always been the horny core of our group. The way you indirectly imply things and they somehow turn sexual. I.e. "Wah, why your carrot so hard one?" I don't think you remember that, but you said it when I bought that white carrot and masturbation set for our dear Li-Tjen.

There you are again, wanting to take the picture, but never wanting to be in one.

You've taught me some things I may never learn outside of school. Some have given me perspectives no other human being can ever posses. The angle of which you look into our world is so entirely different, it defines your entire being. You are by far the weirdest girl I've known and ever will know. From the pirate island project to the class page, you have definately proved yourself to everyone.

I still remember the final thing you've done for me that made my heart melt. The way you dragged me out of the house to even though I realized I didn't really want to go out anymore. Went to pyramids while my parents were secretly planning a party for me. This may be cliche, but it's the sweetest thing anyone has done for me. You were even the one that planned the entire thing, that was the part that got me the most. Because you cared, so much.

I'll never forget this last feat you done for me.

It's sad, that I didn't get to see you one last time before I left Malaysia, but it was sweet of you to drop by my house and pass me a weird little present that's sitting in my cupboard right now. Regretfully, I've lost the card you gave me, but it's just something material.

The hamster you recieved from Wei Ken

Nat, I can't thank you enough, for these few years you've given me. I know I haven't exactly been the bestest friend that I can be. Nor have I given you very easy moments. I may never give you extravagant presents, nor make you the happiest person alive. But, I want you to know, deep down through the satire, the hate,

I love you.

And that's all there is to it.

The last present I gave you.

I wish you the best of luck in your future, be it with or without me. I'll be there for you, even in the worse of times, even in the best of times, even if you're far away, or even if you're right next to me. because that's what friends do.

So long old friend,
It has been fun
But my work here is done.
To watch you grow
And get to know
The woman you have become.

Goodluck, oh and remember - Peanut.

Natalee Tan - The best friend.

The most retarded picture yet of her.

This is Natalee Tan. She's my best friend, well atleast, in my mind, she is. She's stuck to me for awhile now, 5 years if I'm not wrong. Well, we didn't actually begin talking to each other the way we do now. It started back in form 4 when me and her got categorized under the same class. As fate would have it, we cross paths and I stuck on to her the way a remora fish would stick onto a shark. (Hard to be imagined, since I'm the obviouslly bigger one.) Through the years though, we've had so many escapades I can hardly count them

.remora fishies and a shark.

I remmeber back in form 1, I sat infront of Nat and Ch'n Wen If i'm not wrong. I can still feel myself scratching my head and letting dandruff fall all over her table and making her go "Ian! STOP IT". Fine, maybe she didn't really go "Ian! Stop it!" But she did say something along those lines.

Nat remains one of the weirdest girls I've ever met in my entire life. Wait, slash that, she's a contender for one of the weirdest people I've EVER seen. I mean, she acts as if she has OCD and does things at her own tempo, but she always does so many weird things you'd never think of. For example, she once told me that she had to turn off the lights 4 times before she sleeps, or something along those lines. She's also one of the little people I know that carries a camera around everywhere snaping pictures of random things. Emphasis on the word little :D. Lol. Did I mention she's short!? She's so short oh-my-god, you won't believe how short she is. Fine, She's not that short. Sheesh, you bunch of blog readers are such killjoys.

There are too many times that Nat has helped me unstuck myself from sticky situations, and when I say stick situations, i mean deep shit. Like when I get scolded for not completing my Moral project, Nat's the one that joins me in the quest to defeating the evil Mr. Raj. Fine, he's not evil, but still, he screamed at me in the staffroom, how much more abusive can you get? Screaming at such a nice, sweet, boy in a staffroom, you'd have to be a bad bad man. Fine, I'm just joking. Fine, I'll stop using fine. grr.

We've done so many things in the past that I'm proud off, and I share with her something that I don't with many other people. She's like a sister to me. Ironically enough, it feels sometimes as if she's my bigger sister. I know I don't say this much, or almost never at all.

THANK YOU NATALEE TAN.

for everything.

Here's a medal of bestfriendness. I made, by hand for you.

No. 1 BFF.

I know you won't care much after I leave, but you are something really important to me. Without you it's like having one limb-less. I doubt I'll survive on my own two feet without you sometimes. But of course, my doubts are normally proven wrong! You're an amazing woman Nat, with humungous Breastes :D. You have a very splendored future ahead of you.

I hope to spend the time I have left with you, well, if you care to that is. =)

A very bad picture of me but a very okay picture of Nat.

Love,

Ian.
